Privacy Policy

Meet Orbie is an AI conversation that helps the Orchy team get to know people applying to our invite-only community. We save the full text of your chat or voice conversation, including unfinished conversations, so you can come back to it and our authorised team can review your application. AI services process the conversation to respond and to organise what you share.

After the conversation, AI also prepares a review summary for our team: a summary of what you shared, an overall read of your likely spending comfort for the kinds of outings Orchy hosts, and a suggested outcome. Our authorised team reviews the material and makes the invite decision. AI does not decide.

When the conversation is complete, your application is sent for review automatically. We explain this before you start, and you do not need to confirm submission again. You can stop talking, ask us to correct something, withdraw your application, or ask us to delete your information, as explained below.

Your conversation is not a public profile. We do not sell your personal information or use this application to obtain permission for unrelated advertising or general AI-model training.

This part covers orchy.in, Meet Orbie, related invite and application records and messages, and information kept from earlier website waitlist sign-ups. It does not cover the Orchy mobile app, which is covered in Part B. App-only features, such as face checks, payments and event attendance, are not part of the Meet Orbie conversation.

Meet Orbie is for adults aged 18 or over. The first Orchy community is based in Bengaluru, India.

There is no separate consent screen. When you choose Agree & talk or Agree & chat, you confirm that you are 18 or over and you agree to the processing described here, including AI processing of your conversation, saving the full text, automatic submission for review, and updates about your invite by WhatsApp or email. The short notice next to those buttons links to this page and to our Terms.

Verifying your phone number with a one-time code only permits the verification message and account security. It is not, by itself, agreement to the conversation or a request for marketing. We save a record of your choice. If this notice materially changes, we will ask you again through the same kind of action before applying the change to you.

Do not send OTPs, passwords, bank or card details, government ID images, or another person's private information in the conversation. The service does not need them. If sensitive information appears unexpectedly, we limit its use to a necessary response, support, safety or legal purpose.

Phone number, verification and account identifiers

You give us a phone number and verify it. We use it to secure access, link the conversation to you, prevent abuse and send application updates. Phone verification is not government ID or age verification.

Contact email and name

We ask for a contact email for application updates, and you can give a first name or nickname. We use them for your application and account help, not for unrelated marketing.

Voice and chat

Microphone audio is processed in real time during a voice conversation, but we do not record your call audio and nothing on our side stores it. We save the full text of what you and Orbie say, including voice transcripts, timestamps, corrections, unfinished sessions and anything you add later. Our AI providers may keep inputs, including audio and text, for a short time under their own terms (see How long we keep information).

Preferences and summaries

We organise what you tell us about your work or study, interests, plans, availability, area, activity preferences and reasons for joining. Machine summaries can be wrong and are not verified facts just because AI wrote them.

Application and review records

Whether your application is saved or submitted, the AI-prepared review summary (including the spending-comfort read and suggested outcome described below), review timestamps, the decision and notes, follow-up questions, referral-code use and invite status. A referral is not automatic admission.

Optional social or website links

Links you choose to share, and anything a reviewer sees when looking at them. They are optional, and you can skip them.

Technical and security information

Session identifiers, limited browser, device and network information, verification and rate-limit records, errors and necessary server logs.

Support and safety information

Your requests, reports and corrections, related correspondence, and limited information needed to investigate a specific issue or meet a legal obligation.

Orbie uses AI to hold the conversation and to organise what you share. This is processed by Microsoft Azure and OpenAI. Voice conversations also use real-time communications and cloud hosting providers to carry the audio. Relevant conversation context and summaries may be processed outside India.

After your conversation, AI reviews the full saved conversation and prepares an advisory review summary for our team. It contains a summary of what you shared, an overall read of your likely spending comfort for the kinds of outings Orchy hosts, and a suggested outcome (for example accept, waitlist, need more information, or not now). The spending-comfort read is an inference from what you choose to tell us, such as recurring habits, outings, memberships and travel. It is labelled as an inference, can be wrong, and is not a verified statement about your income or wealth.

AI does not issue the decision. Our authorised team reviews the material and decides manually. The team can also consider your stated interests, practical participation, area and availability, how the conversation went, safety matters, and the current community's focus and capacity. Completing a conversation does not guarantee an invite.

We do not use caste, religion, ethnicity, accent, language fluency, surname, appearance, health or disability, or an employer's prestige as a proxy for spending or personal worth. Unclear information is not treated as low spending, and not sharing an optional detail, giving short answers, or a speech-recognition error is not treated as misconduct. Safety concerns are handled separately from interests and preferences. We do not publish any applicant score or profile, and referrers do not see your review.

You can correct a transcript or summary, add context, ask for the inference or the decision to be reviewed by a person, or ask us to withdraw or delete your application. We handle reviews by a person, not by running the same model again.

We save progress as you use Meet Orbie, even before an application is submitted, so you can pick up where you left off. Authorised staff can access relevant saved information for support, safety and review. An unfinished conversation is not promised to be hidden from staff.

When Orbie has what it needs, the system submits your application automatically. The status page only says an application is submitted once our system has recorded it. After that, our service aim is to give you an update within 24 to 48 hours. That is an aim, not a guarantee of admission. The update may be an invitation, a waitlist decision, a request for more information, or a decision not to proceed now. If there is a delay we will tell you.

Information you add while a submitted application is waiting for a decision may be included in the review. Closing the tab, ending a call or signing out does not erase your information or withdraw a submitted application. To withdraw, correct or delete, use the request route below.

We use information to run and secure the conversation, save and resume your progress, prepare review material, handle invites and referrals, send application updates, respond to corrections and requests, fix problems, check the quality of the service, and comply with law.

Quality checks are only to improve this service. We do not currently run a separate programme to train an Orchy model on applicant conversations, and we do not sell private conversations or use them for a separate advertising product. If we ever want a materially different use, we will explain it and ask for a fresh choice first.

We may produce genuinely anonymous statistics about usage or demand. Replacing your name with an account identifier does not make information anonymous while it can still be linked to you.

We use the following kinds of providers to run the website and Meet Orbie. They process information for their role only, and we do not sell personal information.

Microsoft Azure and OpenAI

AI responses, transcription, and the summaries and review summary described above.

Real-time communications and cloud hosting providers

Carrying live audio for voice conversations, and hosting our servers and databases, including stored conversations and application records.

Website hosting, security and bot-protection providers

Delivering the website, network and security processing, and bot or abuse checks.

SMS provider

Sending verification codes and permitted service messages by SMS.

Email and WhatsApp

Sending application updates to the email address or WhatsApp number you gave us. These messages do not contain your full review.

Analytics and error-monitoring providers

Limited product analytics and error diagnostics on parts of the website, as described under cookies below.

Authorised team members can read full saved conversations where needed. Infrastructure and support access is limited by role and necessity. We cannot promise that no authorised technical or provider personnel can ever access data. Referrers do not receive your conversation or the reasons for a decision.

Our core database is intended to be hosted in India, but that does not mean every copy or processing step stays in India. Cloud, voice and AI services can process information in the United States and other locations, under applicable contracts and safeguards. We do not promise India-only processing, or that providers keep no operational records.

We do not record or store call audio for Meet Orbie. We save conversation text only. Our AI providers (Microsoft Azure and OpenAI) may temporarily keep inputs, including audio and text, for abuse monitoring under their standard terms, typically for up to 30 days. We do not control those schedules. Providers' commitments not to train on our data are separate from how long they may hold it.

We may share a necessary, limited subset of information to respond to lawful process, to investigate a specific security or safety issue, or in a confidential business transaction with appropriate protections.

By agreeing (choosing Agree & talk or Agree & chat), you agree to receive updates about your invite by WhatsApp or email. We send decisions and application updates using the details you gave us. At first these messages are sent by our team by hand. We may automate them later. The website status page is always available, so you can check your application there at any time.

These messages are about your application only. A verification code, an application update or a referral is not permission for unrelated offers or calls. You can ask us to stop WhatsApp messages and use email or the status page instead. We do not put sensitive review details in message previews. Detailed information stays behind the signed-in status page.

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember essential progress and settings, and protect the website against automated abuse. These can hold a session or device identifier. They are not proof of your identity and not a public profile. Security and hosting providers can also process IP address, network and browser information to deliver and protect the service, and a bot check may be used on forms.

On the Meet Orbie conversation, sign-in, application-status, privacy-request and admin pages we do not use optional session replay or behavioural analytics. We do keep necessary security records and minimised error diagnostics, and diagnostics are designed to leave out conversation content, contact details, one-time codes and private URL parameters. That is not a claim that no technical data is processed.

On other parts of the website we use limited product analytics (such as page views and campaign tags) and error monitoring, which can use browser storage and an anonymous identifier. You can block these through your browser settings or a tracking blocker. Blocking them does not affect your application.

Your browser controls microphone access separately. Allowing the microphone does not allow analytics or advertising. Clearing your cookies or local storage can sign you out, but it does not delete anything saved on our servers. To delete application information, use the request route below.

These are the periods for website, waitlist and Meet Orbie records:

Unfinished conversations

Kept for 90 days after your last activity, then removed. Where we can, we will remind you before removal.

AI provider abuse-monitoring copies

Our AI providers (Microsoft Azure and OpenAI) may temporarily retain inputs, including audio and text, for abuse monitoring under their standard terms, typically for up to 30 days. This is separate from our own retention periods below and from our deleting your records on request. We do not record or keep call audio ourselves.

Submitted application under review

Kept during review and any real follow-up. Stalled cases are reviewed rather than left indefinitely.

Full conversation and review record after a decision or withdrawal

Kept for 90 days so you can ask for corrections and we can handle questions about the decision, then removed. If you ask for deletion, we delete it earlier unless a specific legal or safety hold applies.

Active waitlist

If you are on the waitlist and want to stay, we keep your information for up to six months after your last meaningful interaction. We then ask you to reconfirm your interest. If you do not, we delete or minimise it.

Accepted members

If you are accepted and use the Orchy app, your information is kept as needed to provide the app service, under Part B.

Minimal decision, notice and request records

A small record of your notice choice, our decision and your requests, kept for up to 12 months after the application ends where needed to explain the process or resolve a request.

Security and legal records

Kept for as long as a legal duty or a specific, documented case requires, with restricted access.

Records held for a specific dispute or legal duty are kept apart from ordinary use. Provider logs and backups follow their own limited expiry and deletion schedules, which we cannot always shorten. A restored backup will not be used to bring deleted information back into ordinary use.

To ask for a copy or summary of your information, correct a transcript or summary, ask a person to review an inference or a decision, stop AI processing, withdraw your application, delete your application information, report an Orbie response, or make a privacy complaint, email hello@orchy.in from an address you can access. At launch, we handle these requests manually. You do not need to install the Orchy app or be accepted to make one.

For an application lookup, include the phone number you signed in with, with country code. We will confirm that you own it before sharing or deleting anything. Please do not send an OTP, password, PIN, government ID, payment details, or a whole conversation by default.

Stopping a call, signing out, withdrawing your application, stopping AI processing and deleting information are different things, and we will explain the scope of your request. If you also use the Orchy app, a website request does not by itself delete your app account. Tell us whether you want the application only or everything.

Deletion covers the relevant transcripts, saved facts, application and review records, and unnecessary copies, subject to the holds above. Minimal records and backup or provider copies may remain for their limited periods and will not be used to rebuild an ordinary profile. You do not have to accept marketing or a new use of your information to exercise a right.

We aim to acknowledge requests promptly and to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and we will explain any exception or delay. Where a faster legal deadline applies, that deadline comes first. Revoking microphone permission stops microphone use but does not delete earlier transcripts.

If you see an unsafe Orbie response, impersonation, unauthorised access or another concern, email us at hello@orchy.in with what happened and when. Please do not forward illegal sexual material as evidence. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services rather than waiting for us. We do not monitor in real time.

You can complain about how your information is used, an inaccurate review record, unsafe content, or how we handled a request. We follow the legal response timetable that applies and will explain any escalation route that applies to your case. Nothing here limits your right to approach a competent authority or forum.

Meet Orbie is not for anyone under 18. If we learn that a child has used it, we stop ordinary conversation and review processing and take appropriate deletion, safeguarding and limited preservation steps. A phone verification code is not proof of age.

We will update this policy when our processing materially changes. A notice of a new purpose is not by itself permission for that purpose. Earlier waitlist information is not turned into AI-training, profiling or marketing permission without your fresh choice.

Orchy is operated by Openhours Private Limited, India. This part covers the Orchy mobile app, app support, and the early Bengaluru beta. The website, the waitlist and Meet Orbie invite applications are covered in Part A.

The current app is an 18+ voice-and-text social concierge beta. It helps you talk through plans and preferences. Events, public people discovery, payments, advertising, and push notifications are not active in this release.

We collect the phone number used for SMS sign-in, or the email address used for the alternate email sign-in path. We also keep an internal account identifier and authentication metadata needed to secure and operate your account.

During onboarding, we collect your name, date of birth, gender, selected Bengaluru area, location-check result and method, consent record, main profile photo, and verification status. Date of birth is used for the 18+ eligibility gate. Your profile photo is private in this beta.

If you ask the app to check your location, it requests an approximate foreground location and classifies the result on your device. Orchy does not send or store the raw latitude or longitude. We store the resulting Bengaluru eligibility state and the area or city you enter. You can use the manual Bengaluru confirmation path instead of giving location permission.

We process the text you type, live microphone audio during a call, Orbie's responses, final conversation transcripts, timestamps, and technical request records. Voice audio is carried in real time and is not intentionally recorded by Orchy in the current release. Final text or transcript content may be saved so the conversation can continue across sessions.

Orchy can save useful preferences and facts as account-bound memory. These may include food needs, interests, planning preferences, and weekend intent you confirm. You can review and delete saved memory in the app, and profile information can be edited separately.

Before the first Orbie interaction, the app asks for permission to share the information needed for that interaction with third-party AI providers. You can decline. If you later withdraw that permission, AI chat and voice cannot operate, but privacy and account-deletion controls remain available.

The beta uses a private main profile photo as the reference for face verification. When you start the live check, AWS processes the profile photo and live camera frames to check liveness and whether the person matches the selected photo.

Orchy stores the profile photo and the verification result and related metadata. Orchy does not store the live-check video. AWS may retain limited operational or security records under its service settings and policies; we do not claim a shorter provider retention period unless it has been verified in the relevant account.

If you report an Orbie response or another safety concern, we collect the selected reason, optional note, relevant response reference, status, and audit information. Restricted safety reports may be reviewed by authorized operators and used to investigate misuse, protect users, or meet legal obligations.

We also process content-minimized service logs, timing and error data, abuse-prevention counters, hashed phone or network subjects, and call or request identifiers. The mobile beta has no advertising SDK and does not use your data for ads or cross-service advertising tracking.

If you contact support, we receive the information in your message and the contact details you use. Never send us an OTP, password, or payment credential.

Information collected through orchy.in, the waitlist and the Meet Orbie invite application, including the website's analytics, error monitoring, anti-abuse and hosting services, is covered in Part A, not in this part.

For the app, we use Supabase for authentication, database, and private photo storage; MessageCentral for SMS OTP; Cloudflare and AWS for network delivery, hosting, operations, and security; a real-time communications provider for voice transport; Microsoft Azure OpenAI for voice processing; OpenAI for text, memory extraction, and embeddings; and AWS Rekognition for face liveness and comparison. An authentication or email provider may deliver account email codes.

These providers process only the data needed for their role. Some may process data outside India. Their own security, abuse-prevention, and backup records can follow provider-controlled schedules that Orchy cannot delete instantly. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Account, profile, photo, conversation, memory, and beta-intent data are generally kept while your account is active and removed through account deletion, subject to the exceptions below. Replaced photos are removed through backend cleanup. Authentication and storage cleanup can finish asynchronously after the in-app account record is removed.

Routine AWS service logs are currently configured for 30 days. Raw restricted safety-report text is currently designed to expire after 365 days. Short abuse-prevention counters and hashed OTP-limit subjects expire or are pruned on shorter operational schedules. Support email remains subject to the mailbox provider and our support needs.

After account deletion, limited pseudonymized safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, legal, and deletion-proof records may remain. Provider logs and backups may remain until their configured or provider-controlled expiry. A deleted account cannot be restored from those limited records.

You can edit profile information, review and delete saved memory, decline optional location and microphone access, report an Orbie response, sign out, and request account deletion from Privacy & data in the app.

You can also request account deletion without the app at orchy.in/delete-account. You may ask us to access or correct your information, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@orchy.in. We may need to verify that you own the account before acting on a request.

We use encrypted transport, authenticated APIs, access controls, private storage, and restricted operator paths. No service is perfectly secure. Please report a suspected security or privacy issue to hello@orchy.in.

Orchy is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. If we learn that a person under 18 created an account, we may restrict and delete it.

We may update this policy as the beta changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or ask for new consent when required.
